Using our PNG images with Silhouette equipment and software

Hello!
Do you have a Silhouette e-cutter and Designer software?  If so, you may have been intermittently experiencing some trouble using our PNG images and papers, images not appearing or faintly appearing.
After a couple of customers brought the problem to my attention a couple weeks ago, and a few Creative Team members (and one past member) tried some files for me to detail out the problems they were having, I was able to contact a representative of Silhouette to explain the issue.  He worked with their technical team to isolate the problems.

After just one day of assessment, they discovered the problem and are incorporating a fix which will be released in their next update, which will be mid to late September.  WOW!  Talk about AWESOME customer service, right?  I was thinking it would take months and I would be put on the back burner, but no, they got on it right away.

If I hadn't spent $400 on a Zing and Make the Cut last year, I would be ordering a Silhouette RIGHT NOW.  Not only have I heard great things about the ease of use of the equipment and software from friends, but their customer service is truly beyond compare!
They actually care about not just customers abilities to use files, but also those of us who create files for customers to use.  I am very impressed!

So if you have had some trouble using Doodle Pantry PNG files with your Silhouette, PLEASE be sure to get the very next update in September for your Silhouette.  After you've had a chance to get your Silhouette software update, try using any PNG file, old or new, from Doodle Pantry and please let me know the outcome.

UPDATED:  One of my DT passed on a temporary work around that seemed to work for her. Open the PNG in PSE (Photoshop Elements) and "Save as" a PNG (at 300 ppi and non-interlaced). And then use the newly saved file in your Silhouette Designer software. Not sure if it will work for everyone, but I figured it was worth a shot to pass on as something to help you until Silhouette releases their update for the software which will fix the problem that their software had using some PNG images.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and p.s. Be sure to stop by this weekend.... we will have a LABOR DAY sale, and also NEW products released on September 1st!

Hi there - I've had issues using digis saved in png format also, and discovered all that's needed is to re-save them in jpg format, and you're good to go! I subscribe to PicMonkey but there's also a free version. Hope that helps!
Hugs,
Leslie
