I created this card for us to be inspired. I am using the newly released grave image from the He Is Risen digital set. Sentiment from the same set.

I colored the yellow sunbeams first and allowed those to dry completely before I colored the rest of the image. I added the other colors away from the sunbeams and blended with the waterbrush starting at the color and moving toward the sunbeams and then directly over the ends of the sunbeams. If you are attempting this, it does take some practice.
I hand drew all the stitches, as I was creating late at night and didn't want to turn on the sewing machine.
