Paper Playtime Sponsorship

Today we are sponsoring the Paper Playtime Digital challenge.   Paper Playtime does challenges each week, but the last monday each month they have several digital sponsors for the challenge prizes, and I am sponsoring all year with them on their "last monday" challenge.
Today is an anything goes at Paper Playtime.

I used the Baby Cow image from Doodle Pantry.  I needed a simple card for the father-in-law.  He raises, buys and sells cows and it is always fun each spring when we visit, to see the newest baby calf trotting along behind it's mother in the herd.

SUPPLIES:
  • IMAGE: Baby Cow image from Doodle Pantry
  • CS/PAPER: Canson 90 lb. watercolor paper, SU old olive, Graphic45 domestic goddess DP
  • INK: printer, Tombow markers 946, 947, 098, 850, 990, SU marker marina mist
  • ACCENTS/TOOLS: waterbrush, Spellbinders labels dies, CDS spring leaf ribbon, pearl, button, sewing machine, foam dimensionals

Thanks so much for visiting today!  I hope you can play in Paper Playtime this week for your chance to win a gift coupon to Doodle Pantry!
See you later this week with the March 5 releases and the DPDC9.

  • If you are a new follower and would like to sign up for the newsletter, the sign up box is on the HOMEPAGE of Doodle Pantry storefront, near the upper left side.
  • Not sure if you are in the active Newsletter contact list?  Just send me a note with your email and I will check to see if you are in the contact list.

2.   I have added a Feedburner email signup for THIS BLOG, so that you can get emailed when new posts are made. Just check the right sidebar, near the top.

We are sponsoring a challenge today!

Today we have some new image releases which are posted right after this post.
Today we are also sponsoring the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge!
The theme of their challenge is to use green, and their verse of reference is Ex. 8:9-11.
I used the Grassy Hills image and a verse from the Only God image set, both from the previous release.
The supply list is at the bottom of this post.
    Card size is 3.25"x6.25"
I placed the scenery into my document first and then added the sentiment overtop, and then printed the combined image.  I used the scallop oval punch as a mask for sponging clouds in the sky.  I watercolored the image with the markers and a waterbrush.  And used the marker writing tip to create grass tufts after the scene was completely dry.

    SUPPLIES for GRASSY HILLS CARD:
    • IMAGES: Grassy Hills and Only God from Doodle Pantry
    • STAMPS: Random doily decorative stamp from some clear set that was unmarked, sorry!
    • CS/PAPER: 90 lb. watercolor paper by Canson, white, wild wasabi

    Peaceful Pond Card

Hello,  I finally got to create with the Cattail Pond and the SVG corner accents cutouts which were both released on February 5.   I made this card.

I placed the pond image into my Word document first and then added the individual cattail PNG images over top. I made some a bit smaller and then mirrored another to make a variety of them clumped together.  I wanted this scene to look like the cattails were in the forefront and the pond was behind them.

I started watercoloring the water areas first, then colored the grass, then the cattails in front left, and then the red/orange flowers, rocks and greenery inside of pond.

For the grassy shaped corner accents, I cut them from the Sure cuts a lot program on the cricut expression.  I cut one set of the grassy corners at 100% size and scaled one set of them by 80% so that I could layer them.  I sponged darker green ink on the larger corners underneath.
Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you have been inspired to go create something!

    CARD SUPPLIES:
    • IMAGE: Cattail Pond by Doodle Pantry
    • CS/PAPER: 90 lb. watercolor paper, CDS spring leaf, CDS mud pie, SU marina mist
    • INK: printer, chocolate inkpad for sponging, Tombow markers N65, 933, 856, 177, 947, SU marina mist, SU wild wasabi
    • ACCENTS/TOOLS: waterbrush, sponge, sewing machine, pearls, SVG cut file Corner Accents by Doodle Pantry, SU dimensionals, houndstooth embossing folder, green offray satin ribbon from walmart

      Pyramid Treat Box template

There is a new release today that is not an image, but a template for treats... or anything you can think of to put inside!
Here is what I made with the Pyramid Treat Box template.
I used the insert candy holder with a 1" hole in it... and it perfectly holds a particular round chocolate.... yum!  The insert is optional depending on what kind of something you want inside.
The product comes with a printable template if you want to hand cut the pieces, and also includes SVG files if you have a cricut and personal cutting software.
The flap opens from the side to retrieve the treat.  The inserts actually help keep the base nice and sturdy.  Oh, and wouldn't it be cute to have a piece of clear cardstock behind the little circle window on the front?
      SUPPLIES:
      • TEMPLATE: Pyramid Treat Box template & SVG files
      • CS/PAPER: Basic Grey Blush DP
      • ACCENTS/TOOLS: Ek rock fern medium punch, Wild orchid crafts flower, high tack glue, pink grosgrain ribbon, SU dimensionals, EK border punch
Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have been inspired to create something.  Hope you have a lovely crafty weekend!
