Boots, Spurs, a Saxophone, and Sewing!

Hello!   I finally got my sewing machine working again!!!  I opened it all up and moved the knobs around and I must have loosened whatever was causing the wheel to stiffen up, although I didn't see a thread or anything fall out.  I know that must have been what it was.  Anyway, I am SO HAPPY!  I can sew again! Yippee!

I made 2 cards.  And boy, was it ever nice to get to do this!  I even have several more cards in the making with pieces scattered around my desk, so I'll have more to share later this month!

Here's my first card using the Saxophone image.  The sentiment is also from the digi set.  I printed on Canson watercolor paper, and watercolored using Tombow markers and a waterbrush.  I had to hand cut around the image to match the shape of the die.  It's not quite a perfect oval.
The card size is a bit odd too, because of how big the die was, I didn't realize it was that tall.... I may have to make a special envelope for it. It is 4.25x6.25.

SUPPLIES:
Image: Saxophone & Clarinet, Doodle Pantry
CS/paper: 90 lb. Canson watercolor paper, Glitz Girls French Kiss patterned paper, CDS spruce needle, CDS melon spice textured, CDS powder puff, CDS worn parchment
Ink: printer for image/sentiment, Tombow markers 990, 228, 992, 912
Accents/Tools: waterbrush, Spellbinders labels 20, Crealies CLCF 11 die, latte pearls, CDS worn parchment ribbon, SU decorative brad, PTI button, leaves from Wild Orchid crafts, glue dots, linen thread, foam dimensionals, sewing machine

Next card is a fun one!  HOWDY!!
I used the boots from the Cowboy Gear and the paper is from the new Shoot 'em Saloon Mini Digi Paper Pack.  I printed on Canson watercolor paper, and watercolored using Tombow markers and a waterbrush.  I tore around the octagon so that I could sponge the chocolate color and make it look old.
I will do a mini color tutorial for how to color the wooden floor under the boots (but I used the new Old Pistol on my tutorial photos!), and I will be posting that THIS WEEK some time.  It's actually easy to do with the watercolor markers/waterbrush.

That's all I had for you today.  I hope you are inspired to create!
Have a wonderful week and see you again soon!

Great cards Laurie! So glad you have the sewing machine working again. I'm not much of a sewer but it does add a nice touch to the cards.

Your watercolored cards are absolutely beautiful. I've never used that medium, but I like the results - very soft feel.

Glad to hear you overcame your sewing machine and won the battle! :-)

Laurie, these cards are gorgeous. The flower, bow & button combo is genius. I love how you made the boots in the 2nd card look worn in places. Brilliant job on both.

Thanks again for the gorgeous Poppies digital set just for entering your challenge. That was really generous.

Blessing hugs,
Teresa
